The Calgary Sun is running a story this morning about a guy who shot a bar owner while being escorted from the property for the third time in one night. The shooter is trying to convince the Judge that he didn’t mean to do it, and that the gun just went off accidentally while he was pointing it at the owner who was tossing him for the third time that night.
While shooting someone is pretty stupid, especially when you use a stolen gun to do it with. Just how stupid does this guy think the Judge and Jury are? He was kicked out of the bar twice, then left and came back to pick up his buddy. When the bar owner told him to get again, and was escorting him to the door, he pulled the sawed off rifle and it accidentally went off into the owners chest. End of story…
Who out there doesn’t believe that Adrian Walle, the shooter, who got kicked out of the bar twice already, didn’t go home, get the rifle, load it and then go back to the bar with the intentions of shooting the owner? No, really, who the hell does he think he’s kidding? Anyone have any comments on this?
The odd thing about Adrian Walle is that his father, “Norm”, is a card carrying Scientologist. As you may know Scientologists are these wonderful “spiritual beings” who are smarter, braver, and more compassionate than us ordinary mortals. This is because Scientology is an infallible system that explains the very mysteries of life and the universe. Scientologists can even raise kids better than you or I. Go figure.
I know Adrian Walle’s family. They’re decent people who don’t deserve to be blamed for what Adrian did. His younger sister is a well-adjusted, contributing member of society who has a successful career and a wonderful heart, yet her parents get vilified because their son chose to do something horrible. The only person who deserves your scorn is Adrian. Leave his family out of it.
And yet the father is nowhere to be seen in any of the videos of the trial of his son. Only the mother cares enough to come to the court house.
I noticed that the father was absent too. Perhaps he is divorced. On the other hand, he still should have been there for his son just the same. Kinda odd.
If he is a Scientologist it would seem to make some sense. Scientologists don’t believe in psychiatry or psychology and it appears that Adrian has had a troubled life. Some counselling early on might have helped him out and maybe this tragedy could have been avoided.
From what I’ve read of the case Adrian definitely did have some mental problems. It is my hope that now he is away from the influence of his Scientologist father; he can now try to get some help.
Amen.
Norm is my brother. The reason he is not seen is because has nothing to do with how he feels. He is not the one that killed a man.
There are 2 families that are hurting.
Scientology (which I’m not) has NO factor in this. Christians kill, Muslims blow up buildings, Mormin’s rape kids. Don’t bring up this because then you really are the loser of the town.
I’m wondering why all 3 of the above comments are about “Adrian Walle’s family”? What about Jeff’s friends & family? Jeff was one of my Best Friends for over 10yrs. When Adrian Walle took Jeff away with a single shot to the heart, he took a piece of my Heart that night as well. As for the “oops” defense, that’s a complete joke & his other defense…well, to say it’s a joke, would be a complete understatement. A.W.(his lawyer anyway) is trying to say he was “developmentally delayed & in an agitated state” and that “just because his finger was on the trigger, his brain may not have had control of his finger. Making the shooting an accident.”(???) Are you kidding me? It was NO “Accident” that he brought the gun back to the bar. The only “Accident” or “oops” in this situation is that the Police didn’t put a Bullet into him the minute they knew who he was.
I was present at both verdicts (the original trial, and the crown’s appeal), and saw his father there with my own eyes. After the original trial, they let us sneak out through the back to avoid the media, thus producing no video footage of any of us. Adrian’s mom was the only one visible on the news following the second verdict because the camera men literally shoved the rest of us (including Adrian’s father) out of the way while trying to get to her — the only video they have of Norm is of him trying to keep them away from her by blocking the sidewalk.
I didn’t go to all of the proceedings, so I have no idea how many Norm attended, but he was definitely there during some of them.
Once again, can we please leave Adrian’s family out of this? I’m not asking anyone to cry themselves to sleep for them — obviously, Jeff Shuckburgh and his family & friends are the primary victims here, and the ones most deserving of your sympathy — but at least have the decency not to attack Adrian’s family members.
Well, this is all very disturbing in many ways. Why is he getting another trial. Adrian has always been in some kind of trouble and violent to those around him. So lets let him free so he can make another families life hell again. This is just what can be expected from the legal system in Canada. Many other criminals are in jail for lesser crimes and are not getting out. His lawyers must be completely mindless of looking for 15 minutes of fame.
